Italy sets new rules for travelers from Albania, introduces 5-day quarantine

Italy has set new anti-Covid rules to restrict movement with extra European countries and the extra Schengen area, including our country.

Italian Minister of Health Roberto Speranza has signed the new draft law which is published on the official website and enters into force immediately. This new draft law has been forwarded to the control authorities at all border crossings.

Albania is classified in list D, along with Kosovo, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro, and countries such as the US, Ukraine, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Japan, Moldova, Qatar, Northern Ireland, etc.

Entry into Italy of persons coming from these countries or who have passed transit in these countries, will be allowed against the following conditions:

Presentation at the moment of entering the aircraft or ship, and at each ground control point, of the passenger localization form, in digital or paper format.

Presentation at the moment of entering the aircraft or ship, or at any land border point, of the negative result of the antigenic buffer or anticovid molecule not more than 72 hours before departure. This time limit has been reduced to 48 hours for those arriving from the UK and Northern Ireland.

It is also imposed with a mandatory quarantine for 5 days, at the address that every traveler from Albania, Kosovo and other countries included in list D have registered, accompanied by a buffer after the expiration of this period. The negative result of the buffer will allow the exit from the 5-day auto quarantine.

Molecular or antigenic tampons are not mandatory for children up to 6 years of age.
