The prominent researcher and professor of History of State and Law in Albania, Aleks Luarasi, passed away at the age of 80.
He is the author of the monographs "Albanian state and law in the era of Skanderbeg" (1998); "Studies on Albanian customary law - Family relations" (2001); author of university textbooks “Legal acts on the history of the state and law in Albania (2014),“ History of the state and law in Albania ”(2018), as well as a series of articles and papers.
He has been the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers (1991) and a member of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe (1992-1998). He is the founder of Luarasi University Press (1998) and Luarasi University (2003).
In 2018 he was decorated with the title "Grand Master" by the President of the Republic, with the motivation "Pioneer of Education", for his contribution to the formation and consolidation of the modern university system in our country.
