The verification by the Prosecution started at the request of the Democratic Party, which demanded that the CEC not accept Doshi's candidacy in the elections on the grounds that he was "non grata".

The CEC also requested an in-depth investigation into Doshi. The CEC will assess whether or not there is a violation of the decriminalization law by Tom Doshi, but in any case he withdrew from the mandate of deputy.

Notification of the Prosecution

The Decriminalization Sector at the General Prosecutor's Office has approved the results of the verification for the subject Tom Gjek Doshi and forwarded it today on 04.11.2021 to the Central Election Commission, which as a competent body pursuant to Article 12 and 13 of Chapter V of the Assembly Decision no.17 / 2016, should examine whether data that are included in the scope of restrictions of law no. 138/2015 "On guaranteeing the integrity of persons who are elected, appointed or exercise public functions", and then assess whether they are within the period of prohibition defined in the same law.
