A gun incident caused panic last night in the 'Ali Demi' area of ​​Tirana, after a 32-year-old man opened fire.

It is learned that 32-year-old Amarild Xhamaqi had lost in sports betting and after walking down the street in his vehicle, he shot into the air.

The 32-year-old was immediately arrested and his weapon was seized. Xhamaqi is known as a problematic person and has been prosecuted before by the 'blues'.

Police announcement:

He fired a gun into the air from his vehicle, and thanks to the immediate intervention of the Police, the 32-year-old was caught and put in handcuffs.

The firearm, a pistol with a loaded cartridge, combat ammunition, along with the vehicle, was seized.

Immediately after receiving a report that a citizen was shooting a firearm in the air from his vehicle in the Alidem area, the services of Police Commissariat No. 1 went to the scene and, thanks to immediate intervention, made it possible to neutralize and arrest in flagrante delicto the citizen A. Xh., 32 years old, resident of Tirana.

From the initial investigative actions, it is suspected that this citizen, yesterday evening, fired a gun into the air from his vehicle in the Alidem area.

During the search of the vehicle, a pistol firearm with a loaded cartridge was found and seized, as well as combat ammunition.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
