Kidnapping and murder of Jan Prenga, GJKKO dismisses Festim Bexhdili's

The trial of Festim Bexhdili, accused of involvement in the kidnapping and disappearance of Jan Prenga, continued at the Court of Appeals.

Bexhdili had previously been sentenced to life imprisonment, but the Supreme Court remanded the case for retrial.

During the hearing, his lawyer requested the questioning of defendants Aldo Majnishta and Dritan Rexhepi, as well as the calling of an IT expert to interpret the seized video footage.

According to SPAK, Bexhdili was a user of an encrypted phone called EncroChat, which is alleged to have been active at the time of the kidnapping. The lawyer said that the communications analyzed in SKY ECC do not include any connection between Bexhdili and the main suspects, including Altin Hajri and Gentian Doci.

He stressed that the communications are with Dritan Funiq, who is said to have ordered Bexhdil to "shut up."

The court rejected the defense's requests to question witness Enxhi and to appoint an IT expert.
