An undeclared amount of 39,000 euros and a device for the production of cryptocurrencies were seized at the Morina border crossing.

The money and equipment were found in the vehicle driven by BB, 33 years old, resident in Northern Macedonia, which was prosecuted.

"The Border Police, in cooperation with the investigative structures of DVP Kukës and the customs authorities, hits a case of non-declaration of money at the border.

39,000 euros and a device for the production of cryptocurrencies are seized.

Border Police Services in Morina, as a result of increased controls, in order to prevent and crack down on illegality, based on risk analysis, at the entrance of the Republic of Albania, in cooperation with the investigative structures of DVP Kukës and customs authorities, have passed to the second line, for a more detailed control, the vehicle driven by BB, 33 years old, resident in Northern Macedonia.

During the control exercised on the vehicle, the Police services found and seized 39,000 euros, which this citizen had not declared, as well as a device that is suspected to be used for the production of cryptocurrencies.

At the end of the first actions performed by the specialists of the Section for Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime in DVP Kukës, the driver of the vehicle, citizen BB, was prosecuted for the criminal offense "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border", explains the police.

The materials will be forwarded to the Kukës Judicial District Prosecutor's Office for further action
