Recognition of independence from Syria, Kurti: Kosovo will work to strengthen

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has reacted to the news that Syria has officially recognized the independence of the Republic of Kosovo.

He described this as another diplomatic success for the country, emphasizing that within this year Kosovo has secured three new recognitions, from Kenya, Sudan, and now Syria.

"After Kenya and Sudan, Syria becomes the next country to recognize Kosovo within this year. Three more recognitions and three new partnerships for our country," Kurti declared.

He expressed gratitude to President Vjosa Osmani for her diplomatic efforts and to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which, according to him, played an important role in this process.

"For this good news for the state and all our citizens, we are grateful to the successful efforts of our President Vjosa Osmani and the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a friendly and partner state of our Republic," he added.

The head of the executive stressed that from today, Kosovo will work to strengthen ties with Syria and build bilateral relations with common interests.

"From today, we are committed to strengthening the ties between us by establishing bilateral relations with common interests and long-term partnerships," Kurti concluded.
