Investigations into the murder of Liridona Ademaj conclude, indictments filed

The Kosovo Prosecution Office has completed the investigation into the murder of Liridona Ademaj and has filed three indictments against Naim Murseli.

The Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, Zejnullah Gashi, announced in a press conference that the accused were: Naim Murseli, Kushtrim Kokalla and Granit Plava, and another accused, but whose name has not been made public.

"It was a sensitive case, it was staged as a robbery, but thanks to the maximum commitment of investigators and prosecutors, within a short period of time we managed to discover the perpetrators of this criminal act. It was an extremely sensitive case in terms of its complexity, and investigations were conducted in many dimensions, because we secured expertise both inside and outside Kosovo ," declared Chief Prosecutor Zejnullah Gashi.

Naim Murseli, Liridona Ademaj's ex-husband, is accused of preparing the plan to kill her, Granit Plava is accused of being an accomplice, while Kushtrimi Kokalla is accused of aiding and abetting the crime.

Liridona Ademaj was murdered on November 29, 2023, while the suspects for planning and executing the serious crime are the victim's husband, Naim Murseli, as well as Granit Plava and Kushtrim Kokalla.

The murder case of the 39-year-old was initially investigated as a "robbery with murderous consequences", but intensive investigations resulted in the arrest of three people, with Murseli considered the mastermind behind the shocking crime.

A few hours before Liridona Ademaj was killed, the suspect in the case of organizing his wife's murder, Naim Murseli, had met with suspect Kushtrim Kokalla, telling him "this job must be done today," alluding to Ademaj's murder.
