According to Independent, the popularity rating of the famous actor was determined by Q Scores and the data was provided to Variety magazine. For the uninitiated, Q Scores are essentially a metric in the entertainment industry for assessing the consumer appeal of a performer.

Before the slapping incident, actor Wil Smith was reportedly ranked among the top 10 most positively rated actors on Q's list. However, in the July poll, Smith's negative rating increased from 10 to 26, so the average score was 16.

"The results show that there has been a very significant and rapid decline in Smith's popularity," Q Scores executive Henry Schafer told Variety. Last month, Smith released a YouTube video apologizing to Rock and the comedian's family for his actions on the Oscars stage.
