In #Cartabianca on the Italian channel Rai3 there was talk about the book "Pyramid of Souls" by Albanian author Virgjil Muçi. Publication which has been awarded the "Kadare" prize in 2018.

Dacia Mariani: The Pyramid of Souls written by Virgjil Muçi is a strange novel between realization and satire. A novel full of rage but also sweet. It is about an Albanian emigrant who becomes rich in America and decides to return home to revisit his country but also to invest and his name was Mark Mara.

As soon as he arrives in Tirana he is greeted with honors because he is seen as someone who has achieved something abroad and has honored his country. He was not a man of reading (reading) but during a journey he came across a classic book called "Dead Souls" by Gogol.

There the idea arises, why not buy souls, as Gogol had done. It was a very good idea but unfortunately the logic is shown in a sarcastic way and takes the direction of a Stalinist way.
