Rita Ora takes full ownership of her music

Rita Ora has signed a global registration agreement with BMG that gives her ownership of all future key registrations.

The star announced the news through an Instagram post, saying it was "empowering to know" that she was in control of her music.

Ora had previously signed with Atlantic Records, where he scored the top 10 hits, including "Ever" and "Let You Love Me".

Prior to that, she sued to get rid of a contract with Jay-Z's Roc Nation, saying she had been left "orphaned" by the label.

The company helped her launch her solo career in 2012, but Ora took legal action three years later, saying her career had become a low priority as Roc Nation pursued other interests in sports management and the Tidal music service. .

After reaching an agreement in June 2016, Ora signed with Atlantic - but they only released one album together, Phoenix.

The record, which is gold certified in the UK, contained the hit songs Your Song (co-written by Ed Sheeran) and For You (from the movie Fifty Shades Freed).

Her latest release for the label was last year’s Bang EP, which failed to make the list in the UK. After that, her contract with Atlantic is believed to have expired.

She has a parallel career in film and TV, and is a judge on The Masked Singer UK.

The singer-songwriter said that fans can expect to hear new music "very soon".

"The company's approach to the ownership and control of the artist is very much in line with mine," the star wrote on Instagram.

"I'm very excited about the new music I've been working on and I can't wait to share it with all of you."

She also thanked the "wonderful team" on Atlantic Records, noting that they had helped her set a record for the 10 best songs of a British artist.
