Deadly Israeli attack in Lebanon

An Israeli drone strike hit a car in the Lebanon Valley on Tuesday, killing three people inside, officials and state news agencies said.

The attack in Gandurijeh, located about 10 kilometers from the border with Israel, came a day after a similar attack in which a commander of the Hezbollah militant group was killed.

In an urgent mission to prevent the conflict between Israel and Hamas - the Palestinian group designated a terrorist organization by the United States and the European Union - from turning into a regional conflict, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Monday that Arabia Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey will consider participating in the reconstruction and governance of Gaza after the war ends. This territory has suffered great destruction from the war that started on October 7.

The United Nations humanitarian office has said that the intensification of the Israeli offensive in southern and central Gaza has had "devastating consequences", increasing the number of civilians killed and hampering operations to deliver humanitarian aid.

Since the war between Israel and Hamas began, there has been exchange of fire between Israel and Hezbollah on an almost daily basis on the border between Israel and Lebanon.

The war in Gaza was sparked after Hamas radicals attacked southern Israel, killing 1,200 people and kidnapping 250 others. Israel responded with ground, air and sea attacks on Gaza killing over 23,000 people. According to the Ministry of Health in Hamas-controlled Gaza, two-thirds of the victims were women and children. This ministry does not distinguish between civilians and killed fighters./REL
