The Dibra Police are reacting after a complaint from DP candidates that yesterday evening in Maqellarë, DP exponents blocked two vehicles on suspicion that votes were being bought by SP representatives. 

The police officially announce that the DP candidate for deputy, Xhemal Gjunkshi, has notified the police, denouncing that representatives of the Socialist Party were suspected of distributing sums of money in exchange for votes to residents of this unit, and therefore, the referral of materials to SPAK for electoral corruption against 4 people has begun. 

Dibër Police Announcement:

On 09.05.2025, at around 21.15, the Operations Room of the Dibër Local Police Directorate received a call from citizen Xh.Gj., (candidate for deputy of the Democratic Party political entity), who stated that in Maqellarë, representatives of the Socialist Party political entity were suspected of distributing sums of money in exchange for votes to residents of this unit.

Immediately, the special investigative group of the Dibër Local Police Directorate went to the given address and, under the direction of SPAK and the Dibër District Prosecutor's Office, all necessary investigative actions were carried out.

Regarding the above, the procedural materials were referred to SPAK, for the criminal offense "Active corruption in elections", related to the criminal offenses "Self-judgment", "Obstruction of the circulation of road transport vehicles", charged with citizens AK, 29 years old; HH, 48 years old; Xh.Gj., 62 years old; E.Gj., 33 years old.
