A person with high social risk, a member of a criminal group, is arrested in Greece, with the aim of extradition to our country.

Police announce that Ardian Ahmetaj, known as Laert Haxhiu's friend and wanted in Albania for murder, has been arrested in Greece. 

"State Police structures announce that they have obtained information about a wanted citizen who was hiding in Greece and immediately, through Interpol Tirana, have collaborated with their Greek counterparts to locate, capture and arrest the person with high social risk.

As a result of the exchange of information in real time between specialized structures of the State Police and their Greek counterparts, in Piraeus, Greece, within the framework of operation "The Wanted", citizen AA, 51 years old, was located, captured and arrested for extradition purposes.

This citizen was declared internationally wanted after the Fier Court, in 2023, imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" for the criminal offense of "Intentional murder, committed in collaboration" and "Unauthorized possession of firearms and ammunition".

This citizen is suspected of having killed citizen Besnik Hida with a firearm in 2019 in Lushnja, in collaboration with citizens LH and OB.

"Interpol Tirana continues to cooperate with Interpol Athens, with the aim of extraditing this citizen to Albania," the police announced.
