In several photos released later on Friday by Ashley Biden, the daughter of the former US president, he is seen at an airport, although it is not known exactly where the photos were taken.

Biden, who left office in January, was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer after undergoing a medical examination due to some urinary symptoms.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, prostate cancer is the second most common form of cancer in men, after skin cancer. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that 13 out of 100 men will be affected by the disease at some point in their lives, with age being the main risk factor.

Doctors confirm that Biden's cancer has shown signs of being "hormone-sensitive." This means that the spread of cancer cells is driven by male hormones such as testosterone and dihydrotestosterone. These hormones bind to receptors on prostate cells and stimulate their growth, but in cases of cancer, they promote the spread of malignant cells.

Although cancer that has metastasized (spread to other organs) is more difficult to treat, the medical team remains optimistic, emphasizing that sensitivity to hormonal therapy offers real hope in the fight against the disease.
