In a statement to the media, the spokesperson for the president of the Freedom Party, Jasmira Memelli, described the May 11 election process as a political farce, orchestrated by the government.

According to her, numerous cases of pressure on the administration, bribery and intimidation of voters have been reported, although she does not publish evidence.

"The numerous reports of pressure on public administration, the massive use of state resources for electoral purposes, vote buying and voter intimidation cast a heavy shadow over the final result and the entire process, thus undermining the credibility and integrity of one of the most fundamental mechanisms of a democratic system ," she says.

She further accuses the CEC of not acting swiftly and transparently. This, she says, reinforces impunity. She then repeats the DP's rhetoric, demanding a thorough investigation and punishment of officials who, she says, have abused their positions for political gain.

"We demand immediate and thorough investigation into every documented case of violation of the law. We demand the punishment of every official who has abused his office for political gain. And we demand a deep, real electoral reform, guaranteed by independent international actors," she said.
