LIRIA KA EMER

Yllka Domi was born in Gjakova on June 17, 1982. She became a member of the 137th Brigade "Gjakova" of the Kosovo Liberation Army.

Yllka lost her life on May 7, 1999 during the Battle of Cabrati, which was taking place between KLA forces and the Serbian army.

Two days before her death, 17-year-old Yllka wrote her last verses:

"Trusts you leave if you do not wait,

Write my name in the sand of the sea,

And write me two verses with her writing,

In the wings of the waves to have unfinished epics,

And the arena of the cage to be open.

Monument I do not want…!

If you find a stick on the back of the city,

Put it close to my head. "

. The Serbian military sent Yllka's body together with other bodies killed in the battle to a mass grave in Batajnica (Serbia).

After the identification of the bones by forensic experts, Yllka Domi was reburied on December 23, 2003, on the hill of Çabrati in Gjakova.

Yllka Domi has been declared a martyr of the nation.

Freedom has the name of the fallen!
