Xhafaj tells about the relationship with Rama and where the cooperation with him differs from the one with Nano and Majko

Former Minister of Interior and elected MP of the Socialist Party, Fatmir Xhafaj told about the relationship he had with former Prime Ministers Fatos Nano and Pandeli Majko, as well as with the current Prime Minister Edi Rama during the time he was part of the cabinets.

Regarding the difference between Nano, Majko and Rama, Xhafaj said that they are different natures, styles and formats. Asked about the cooperation with Fatos Nano, Xhafaj said in "Dekalog" that he had the freedom and opportunity to be yourself.

With Majko, he appreciates the communication, while regarding the current prime minister, he does not deny that there have been moments that have been with different attitudes. Xhafaj emphasizes that he has been cooperating with Rama for a long time and that he already has a normal relationship.

As for whether he would accept the post of minister again, he did not give a definite answer and said that he has no intention in himself.

Journalist: What was it like working with Fatos Nano?

Xhafaj: Work with Fatos Nano, you were yourself. You had a kind of freedom for many reasons which he enabled, gave and supported in order to feel like a minister.

Journalist: Me Pandeli Majkon?

Xhafaj: It was a very short period with Pand and we were all in the process of growth and formation. With him at that time you had ease of communication and for the sake of truth also trust.

Journalist: With Edi Rama, where did you serve as the 61st Minister of Interior of the Albanian state?

Xhafaj: Edi Rama is of course completely different from the two ancestors you mentioned. Personally, for specific reasons, perhaps, I had the opportunity to be a minister until the day I was in the cabinet.

Journalist: Did he give you the opportunity or did you do it?

Xhafaj: The Prime Minister gives you the opportunity, but it is you who must keep and use this opportunity.

Journalist: How is your relationship with him at the moment?

Xhafaj: Marrëdhënie normale, s’kam asnjë arsye për të mos pasur marrëdhënie normale. Kam një histori të gjatë politike me Edi Ramën që nga dita një që ka ardhur në Partinë Socialiste dhe që nga dita një që ka dashur të bëhet kryetar i Partisë Socialiste. Ky është fakt i njohur publik. Kemi një histori të gjatë bashkëpunimi me njëri-tjetrin.

Kemi ndarë beteja të mëdha bashkërisht, ai natyrisht në rolin e kryetarit të PS unë në rolin e anëtarit të kryesisë apo sekretarit të PS. Kjo do të thotë që koha e gjatë, sidomos në opozitë na ka dhënë mundësinë të punojmë shumë afër. Kjo edhe në kohën e reformës në drejtësi por edhe kohën kur kam shërbyer si ministër i Brendshëm si pjesë e kabinetit. Natyrisht s’ka arsye që të jetë ndryshe, kjo edhe për faktin se ai është kryetar i Partisë Socialiste dhe unë deputet i Partisë Socialiste.

Journalist: Do you have things that you shared differently with the Prime Minister?

Xhafaj: We definitely had!
