Balliu: National security and the rule of law in Albania have collapsed

Democratic Party MP, Klevis Balliu, has today denounced the collapse of national security and the rule of law in Albania, accusing Edi Rama's government of total capture of institutions and structured collaboration with organized crime.

According to Balliu, key state institutions have been transformed into instruments of criminal interests, directly endangering the economy, constitutional order and the future of the country.

PRESS RELEASE

Today, national security and the rule of law in Albania have truly collapsed. It has been definitively proven that the National Anti-Corruption Agency, instead of serving as a key institution for national security and state transparency, has become an instrument that facilitates drug money laundering and serves the interests of organized crime.

Businessmen and economic operators have been threatened, blackmailed and intimidated through incriminated segments of the police, being sent to known exponents of organized crime, with the aim of forcing them to withdraw from public tenders. Citizens' funds have been diverted in an organized and criminal manner towards government clients and gang-linked structures.

The state has fallen because institutions vital to the country's security and economy operate in coordination with individuals directly linked to the prime minister, who decide who benefits from public money and which criminal groups control tenders and entire sectors of the economy. This is total state capture.

Such a level of corruption and criminal infiltration at the top of government is unprecedented. This situation has destroyed the rule of law, seriously undermined national security, and put the future of the country and our children at risk.

Organized crime has become the main pillar that keeps Edi Rama's power afloat. This is why today there is no security for honest citizens, no equality before the law, and no real justice.

Today, Edi Rama and his narco-power are doing everything to guarantee the inviolability of people connected to him, such as Ergys Agasi and Belinda Balluku. The latter's corrupt affairs have had Edi Rama himself as a supervisor and guarantor. Precisely for this reason, the narco-power has openly attacked the law and justice, to protect the ruler who has stolen Albanians' money, because the prime minister himself is involved in those affairs.

Faced with this situation, civic reaction is inevitable. The only solution is democratic, peaceful and massive resistance to restore the rule of law and accountability.

On December 22, 6:00 PM,

Citizens are invited to join a peaceful protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, against the drug lords and state capture.
