During the visit made this Sunday for the celebration of Easter in Kavaja, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, praised the figure and contribution of Bishop Anastas Janullatos, describing him as one of the most distinguished personalities of faith, knowledge and dedication in the service of Albania.

Berisha emphasized that Janullatos was a "giant man and a giant priest," who with rare dedication raised the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania from the ashes, earning the respect and love of Albanian believers.

Berisha : Father Jani!
Very fair request and Vlach community, the Aromanians are a historical community, a history with the most excellent cooperation with the Albanians. With the greatest contribution to the National Renaissance.
It is their pens and minds that have an essential contribution to our renaissance.
This community has another extraordinary contribution to national independence, because in fact it was their community in Bucharest that convinced Ismail Qemali that independence should be declared without any other protectorate and stayed there for several days.
And not only that, but by coincidence of time, the Romanian prime minister at that time was originally from Voskopoja and he gave Ismail Qemali the check for half a million gold francs.
He left the Istanbul Committee, but they had the uncertainty that going outside the umbrella of the empire could be attacked, but Austria-Hungary, because it became the only real supporter of our independence, and this community with prominent people, prominent figures in Bucharest made an essential contribution.
But let's go back to Kavaja, it gave the genius of all time on the world stage, Aleksandër Moisiu.
In fact, I said it before, if we go to Frashër, we have common roots there. If you read Sami Frashër, it goes without saying what a symbiosis, harmony there is between Albanians and the Aromanian community.
Therefore, what Father Jani is asking for, we must fulfill and possibly where it is fulfilled, invite me to be present because, this community deserves to be honored more, because it belongs to Kavaja.
Sometimes, why does someone from us come out as it should not, Enver Hoxha was not a Vlach, an Albanian, but another Enver Hoxha also comes out as his work, these are the works of God.
I assure you and I have had and will maintain the highest consideration for the leader of the Albanian Autocephalous Church, Anastas Janullatos, his extraordinary contribution.
He was a giant man, he was a giant priest.
He began his mission in the most difficult conditions than anyone else, but he was never defeated to remain a missionary and to be honored today for all time for the extraordinary contribution he made to the establishment of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania.
From the beginning, Bishop Anastas Janullatos conquered the hearts of the Albanian believers, their great respect and raised the church from the ashes, raised it with all its infrastructure, with all its activities and he left life as a great missionary, who did honor to the church, to God, but also to the Albanian nation.
So we always remain indebted and grateful to his contribution.
He deserved all the honors and appreciations, because he was a giant man, a giant intellectual. He was an academic who honored Albania, the church.
