The clash in Elbasan, Bardhi explains the dynamics of the event: Klement Xhaferri opened fire first, Arbër Paplekaj is not a murderer

The Political Leader of the Elbasan region, Gazment Bardhi has given his version on the dynamics of the event where due to armed clashes today at noon one person was killed and 4 others were injured.

In a statement to the media, Bardhi says that Klement Xhaferri, declared wanted, described as a SP sympathizer, opened fire first, when the vehicle without license plates was blocked, because according to him he was distributing money in exchange for votes and collecting identity cards. .

Bardhi has called on the prosecution to investigate impartially and refer to footage from security cameras in the area.

First of all, I want to express on behalf of the Democratic Party the condolences for the serious event and the condolences of the family of the deceased, as well as the speedy recovery of all the injured and effective members of the State Police. Nothing is more important than public safety, than the life and health of citizens. For this I ask the police and the prosecution to conduct a full, professional and transparent investigation into the whole event, the causes, motives and perpetrators.

The political conflict instigated by the Socialist Party that produces tension at all times, in the attempt to retain power at all costs, and to prevent citizens from voting freely, does not help Elbasan, does not help the electoral process, does not help Albania and Albanians who are eager for change.

What happened today is the direct responsibility of Taulant Ballës. Engaging exponents of organized crime in elections and inciting them to commit electoral crimes is his responsibility. He is doing everything illegal, to preserve privileges, to preserve his personal power. 

Taulant Balla under the panic of loss is collaborating with his gangs, in an attempt to organize as in the last elections the criminal structures of vote buying.

Today, when we received reliable information that a vehicle without license plates was moving in the neighborhood of May 5, you were driven by a person named Met Dafllaku, and in the middle of the day, in the middle of the neighborhood, he was demonstratively distributing money in exchange for and was collecting ID cards, we notified the Vote Defense structures to go and verify it. The Vote Defense structures are composed of former employees of the State Police, clean and with no criminal record. After this unit verified the information, they requested the intervention of the State Police. The Director of the Elbasan Local Police was notified directly.

Pas mbërritjes së disa efektivëve të Policisë së Shtetit, me në krye Nëndrejtorin e Policisë Elbasan, strukturat tona kanë kërkuar që Policia të kryejë veprimet proceduriale në përputhje me ligjin. Ne kete moment, ne prezencë të Policisë së Shtetit, në tentativë për të mundësuar largimin e makinës dhe personit që po blinte vota, një nga personat qe dyshohet te jete Klement Xhaferri, por edhe shtetas të tjerë të paidentifikuar nga strukturat tona, ka nxjerr armën dhe ka qëlluar në drejtim të anëtarëve të Strukturës për Mbrojtjen e Votës. Aty kanë mbetur të plagosur Pavlo Vuksani dhe Emiljano Prenga, të dy ish punonjës të Policisë së Shtetit, pjesë e Strukturës për Mbrojtjen e Votave në Elbasan.  Në këtë moment ka pasur të shtëna me armë mes palëve.

Per kete ngjarje te rende qe cenon rende procesin elektoral ne nxisim prokurorinë të hetojë në mënyrë të plotë, të paanshme, të shpejtë dhe transparente ngjarjen. E gjithë zona është e pajisur me kamera sigurie dhe pamjet mbi ngjarjen janë evidente dhe mund e duhet të bëhen publike.

Arbër Paplekaj nuk është shoqëruesi im, sic u dezinformua me dashje media. Unë jam prej ditës së parë në fushatë i shoqëruar nga të rinjtë dhe nga ekipi im, dhe nuk kam nevojë për badigardë.

Por po, ai është pjesë e Strukturës për Mbrojtjen e Votës në Elbasan. Ai nuk është kriminel. As vrasës. Është ish-efektiv i Policisë së Shtetit dhe ish-shoqërues në Ambasadën Amerikane në Tiranë. Për shkak të punës që kryen në këtë moment disponon armë me leje nga Policia e Shtetit. Sipas informacioneve tona, si njohës i ligjit, menjëherë pas ngjarjes, është dorëzuar vetë në polici, për të sqaruar rrethanat e plota dhe për tu vënë në dispozicion të organeve të drejtësisë.

I bëj thirrje të gjithë mbështetësve të Partisë Demokratike që të ruajnë qetësinë dhe të garantojnë zgjedhje të qeta, të lira dhe të ndershme në qarkun Elbasan.
