High traffic flow on the Albania-Kosovo border

High traffic flow on the Albania-Kosovo border

The common Albania-Kosovo border crossing point is experiencing a high flow of people and vehicles during these first days of 2025. Many citizens, both from Kosovo and Albania, choose to spend their post-holiday holidays visiting tourist destinations, reports A2 CNN.

The movement of vehicles has also increased due to the departure of Kosovar emigrants to their countries of residence after the end of the year-end holidays. Meanwhile, long lines and waiting times at the border have been avoided thanks to free movement, also working with an accelerated procedure for vehicles with foreign license plates.

Currently, 8 counters are being operated on both sides of the border. These days, the border police are also working on the procedure without controls for vehicles with Albanian and Kosovo license plates. We recall that the end-of-year holidays have marked an increase in the flow of entry and exit of passengers at the border crossing points in the Kukës region.

The services of the Local Directorate for Border and Immigration of Kukes announce that from December 19 of the year we left behind until today, over 90 thousand citizens have entered our country at the border crossing points of the Kukes district.
