A tragic event has shaken Montecilfone in Italy, where a 27-year-old woman of Albanian origin was found dead on Sunday evening, April 28. Her body was discovered tied to a tree near the area known as the “Sheriff’s Bridge,” along the road connecting Larino to Bifernina.

The Larino Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation file and ordered an autopsy, which is scheduled for Friday, May 2. On the ground, the carabinieri are continuing their investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of the mysterious death.

The 27-year-old's ex-husband, a 51-year-old man, was the person who raised the alarm, as he was worried that she might commit an extreme act. It was he who notified the authorities and accompanied the carabinieri to the place where the body was found. He was questioned for several hours, but at the moment there are no people officially under investigation and investigators are maintaining maximum discretion over his confession.

The deceased, a mother of a 7-year-old son, lived alone with her child after her relationship with her husband ended. According to villagers, she was known for her dedication to her work at a center for immigrants and for her unconditional love for her son, who was described as "the center of her life."

The community of Montecilfone is in mourning, shocked by the sudden loss and the severe way in which it happened. Painful messages have poured in on social media from friends and relatives, who remember her as a girl always smiling and devoted to her child.

Only the autopsy results are expected to provide a clear answer to the cause of death, while the village anxiously awaits the truth to emerge after an event that has left behind only question marks and sadness.
