DP denounces electoral crime in Vlora and Selenica: Criminal charges for abuse of office against local officials

DP denounces electoral crime in Vlora and Selenica: Criminal charges for abuse

The Democratic Party has filed two criminal reports with the Vlora Prosecutor's Office and SPAK, accusing representatives of the majority in the Vlora district of involvement in electoral crimes and abuse of office with the aim of influencing the electoral process.

According to the official announcement of the Democratic Party of Albania, the first complaint comes from the party's branch in Vlora and focuses on the current leaders of the Local Office of Pre-University Education. They are accused of using educational structures for the purpose of the election campaign, in violation of the law and the principles of institutional neutrality.

The second complaint was submitted by the DP in Selenica and involves the mayor, who, according to the DP, abused his public office to influence voters and favor a certain political entity during the campaign.

"The Democratic Party calls on the justice authorities to act without delay and seriously to investigate these cases, punishing any act of abuse of power that violates the integrity of the electoral process and the will of the citizens," the statement says.

The DP has repeatedly reiterated its concern about the involvement of state structures in the majority campaign, considering this a deliberate scheme to distort the election result.
