Shocking details have emerged from a letter from the perpetrator of the murder of Ilaria Sula, the 22-year-old Albanian woman who was found dead in late March in a suburban area of Rome. Mark Samson, 23, of Filipino origin, has confessed to Italian prosecutors the macabre event and his actions after the crime.

In the letter he sent to authorities, he describes the night of March 25, when the couple stayed together at Samson's apartment and talked about their relationship. He explains that he had been tense and tired of the relationship, while claiming that Ilaria was looking for other acquaintances.

"We talked about our relationship, about the fact that it was bothering me and I was tired of waiting. Meanwhile, she was looking for other people to connect with," the 23-year-old writes.

He says that Ilaria asked him to sleep at his house that night because it was late, and that he slept in his bed in the pajamas he had given her. According to him, before the crime, they had remembered their shared experiences and the affectionate names they called each other – such as “Spirit”, “My Heart” and in Filipino “Bebe Ko”, “Mahal”, “Asawa”.

After the fatal stabbing, which allegedly occurred on the morning of March 26, Samson described how he put Ilaria Sula's body in a suitcase and then tried to escape from it.

"On a bright sunny day, I took the stroller out of the building. I waited for two girls to pass by who were coming my way, then I picked up the suitcase and put it in the trunk. I stopped for a moment to regain my strength. Then, without a clear direction, I left. At around 4:30 PM, I bought cigarettes and a lighter at a tabakino," he recounts in his letter.

The lifeless body of Ilaria Sula was found in a stream in the Capranica Prenestina area. The event has shocked public opinion in Italy and Albania, while investigations continue to fully elucidate the circumstances of the crime and the motives that pushed the young man towards this serious act.
