An alarm has been raised at Korydallos Prison in Greece after a pistol and eight bullets were found buried in the courtyard of Ward 5.

The discovery of the weapon has caused immediate mobilization of the authorities, as this ward holds some of the most notorious criminals in the criminal world, including Albanian Klodian Lekocaj, known as the leader of the so-called "prison mafia", who also frequents the same yard during airing hours.

The same ward also houses Turkish prisoners suspected of involvement in the murder, which has increased authorities' concerns about the origin of the weapon and the possible purpose of its use.

Investigators suspect that the weapon could have been prepared for an escape attempt, for a possible attack on other prisoners, or for taking prison employees hostage.

Currently, investigations have been expanded to all cells in the ward, while security camera footage and records of recent visits are being analyzed.

Klodian Lekocaj recently found himself at the center of the Greek authorities' attention again after he managed to take two prison guards hostage with a knife, taking their keys, radios, and cell phones.

At the same time, he began moving from one wing of the prison to the other with a group of seven Egyptians, to reach Ward 3, while searching for a compatriot to kill.
