Kurti takes part in the Pride Parade in Kosovo

 "Love is love" inscription that was seen in the Pride Parade that started on Saturday in Pristina, dedicated to the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intergender, etc.

The Pride Parade marks the last activity within Pride Week, which started on June 3.

Pride Week is dedicated to members of the LGBTIQ+ community. Throughout this week, marches and protests are taking place in many countries, with the request for the recognition of legal rights for marriages between persons of the same sex.

Political figures and members of diplomatic missions in Kosovo also participated in this event.

Among them was the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, the Minister of Culture, Hajrullah Çeku, the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, the head of the Office of the European Union (EU) in Kosovo, Tomas Szunyog and the president of Pristina, Progress Rama.

Mimoza Kusari-Lila, head of the parliamentary group of the Vetëvendosje Movement, in the Assembly of Kosovo, has called for the acceptance of members of this community in society, and for them to be open to declaring their sexual orientation.

"I can say that every year the Parade has a different perspective and approach, through which the community representatives are intended to feel free, to be who they really are."

In a report published in March of this year, by the Spartacus Gay Travel Index, Kosovo is ranked as the least hospitable country for people of the LGBTI+ community among the countries of the Balkans and worse than the countries of the European Union.
