Prime Minister Edi Rama and Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu have inspected the Fier Memorial Hospital, which has begun to serve the citizens of the entire Southern Region.

Rama praised the medical staff from Turkey, saying that this hospital will serve as a center of knowledge transfer.

"I am very grateful to all the Turkish staff who came. And I want to tell you that even in the discussion I had with the President from the beginning this is not just a matter of a hospital, even one more service that is not discussed is very important, but it is above all a transfer of knowledge.

In a way, your mission is twofold, to serve as you usually do, but also to share with your Albanian colleagues all your knowledge and experience. We want this hospital to be a center of knowledge transfer for other hospitals and for health personnel in other hospitals ", declared the Prime Minister Rama.

From May 27, the Fier Memorial Hospital has opened its doors to patients and so far there are 100 patients who have received services in this hospital, 18 patients have been hospitalized and the first 2 surgical interventions have been performed successfully. Patients were referred cases from the districts of Fier, Vlora and Gjirokastra.

The Fier Regional Memorial Hospital, built in record time, an investment of the Republic of Turkey, will provide tertiary level services for the entire Southern Region. With a capacity of 150 beds, the hospital autonomy model will be applied for the first time in this hospital.

Fier Regional Memorial Hospital will provide emergency services, surgery, neurosurgery, cardiovascular surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, infectious diseases, pneumology, orthopedics and traumatology services, etc.
