On the eve of local elections, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today that Vlora airport will be ready for flights at the end of 2024.

Speaking at a meeting with tour operators in the coastal city, Rama said that Vlora has undergone changes as a result of the projects developed in this city.

"I am glad that we have now started with two large construction sites that will give a great boost to tourism and the economy. The tourist port will bring another category of tourists to Vlora and the new commercial port that will facilitate the fishing industry.

With the new construction sites that have been opened and will be opened, they will give a new impulse to Vlora. Without forgetting the airport, the works are going very well and we will have the first flight at the end of 2024 and we hope there will be no surprises.

The Vlora airport had delays that were beyond our control, but now it is completely on track and if nothing unforeseen happens, I am confident that at the end of 2024 we will have the first flight", said Rama.
