Doctor's challenges in the 78th anniversary of the 'two seasons'

Sali Berisha celebrates his 78th birthday today.

This birthday finds the 'doctor' among many challenges, with strong developments both within the opposition camp and in the confrontation between political opponents.

On this birthday, Berisha appears fit and prepared, as he writes in a post on Facebook, for a new political spring.  

"78 years old today! I travel in two seasons at once. In the beautiful autumn of life and in a new political spring! Thanks God! Unlimited gratitude to my family and all of you friends",  writes Berisha.

Berisha is known as one of the most important political figures in the country. He was president twice, prime minister twice, leader of the Democratic Party for more than 16 years.

DP direction

This birthday finds Berisha amidst many challenges, with a PD still divided into two "poles", where one part supported Berisha and one part supported Enkelejd Alibeaj, to whom Lulzim Basha left the leadership of the party after his resignation in March of this year . 

However, this week positive signals were given for negotiations with the aim of fully uniting the DP and presenting them with a common candidate in the local elections.

Meanwhile, on November 3, the Court of Appeal will consider the appeal of the Democratic Party, against the decision taken by the court on March 18, 2022, when it registered the statutory changes of the DP Assembly of July 17, 2021.  

Local elections

Zgjedhjet vendore 2023, janë një tjetër mision i rëndësishëm në axhendën politike të Berishës.  

Primaret që u zhvilluan në PD, Sali Berisha, kreu i kësaj force politike, do t'i ketë model edhe në zgjedhjet lokale.

Këto zgjedhje shihen me mjaft interes për opozitën pasi në vitin 2019 PD nuk u kandidoi asnjë emër në zgjedhje duke i bojkotuar.

Protestat

Një vjeshtë protestash ka paralajmëruar Berisha. Dy ditë më parë, i ftuar në Opinion, Berisha tha se së shpejti priten protesta kombëtare, që Shqipëria nuk i ka parë kurrë.  

Berisha nuk dha një datë konkrete, por tha se po shqyrtohet ende teknika dhe forma e tyre.

Non grata

After the USA, Berisha was also declared 'non grata' by Great Britain. He has accused the British ambassador in Tirana of what he called a corrupt act and has rejected the claims raised regarding Damir Fazllic and Fation Dautin. For this, Berisha claimed that he addressed the court.
