Germany has listed Albania in the countries that no longer pose a risk to COVID-19.

Based on the analysis by the Institute of Public Health in Germany, "Robert Koch Institute" (RKI), the German Embassy in Tirana announces that from May 9, our country is no longer categorized as a danger zone for Covid-19.

For travelers from Albania, this development brings convenience only in terms of travel formalities - starting from May 19, digital travel registration and quarantine are no longer required.

"Given the positive epidemiological situation, Albania from the next day, May 9, is no longer categorized as a danger zone for Covid-19. The Robert Koch Institute has reflected this on its website

Important: This development does not change anything in access restrictions. According to an EU recommendation from citizens resident in Albania will be allowed to travel even further to Germany or the European Union only those who exercise an important function or whose travel is necessarily necessary! Travel for purely tourist purposes from Albania to Germany will initially be, as before, impossible. Further information is available on the website: https://www.bmi.bund.de/.../coronav.../coronavirus-faqs.html

For travelers from Albania, this development brings convenience only in terms of travel formalities - starting from May 19, digital travel registration and quarantine are no longer required. "But for passengers entering Germany by air, the pre-departure test (PCR or antigen test, not earlier than 48 hours before departure) remains in force , " the embassy said in a statement.
