Did not justify the property / KPC fires the wife of the former Chief Prosecutor

The Independent Qualification Commission has dismissed Judge Zegjine Sollaku, the wife of the former Prosecutor General, Theodhori Sollaku.

Zegjine Sollaku was a judge at the Tirana Court of Appeals. KPC has ascertained inaccuracies in the declaration and lack of financial resources to justify an asset in the amount of ALL 7 million.

In terms of image purity and professionalism, she was praised positively. The judge had legal counsel for her husband, Theodhori Sollaku, who challenged the KPC's findings on the property.

Zegjine Sollaku has a long career in the justice system and worked as a judge of the Court of Tirana in 1992-2003. From 2003, she served in the Court of Appeals of Tirana. The vetting process was conducted by a body led by Xhensila Pine, with rapporteur Lulzim Hamitaj and member Suela Zhegun.
