President Ilir Meta has accepted the request and met today with the residents of Radhima, Orikum, Tragjas and Dukat regarding the infrastructure projects planned to be implemented in the Vlora-Orikum area.

The latter had requested a meeting with the Head of State, where they informed him with the concern that so far no state, central or local authority has consulted with them, let alone heard the proposals for the development of their properties and area as a whole.

Residents say they are not against the development of the area, but according to them the way it is done violates the right to property.

In this regard, Meta says that every voice of the inhabitants must be heard and that there can be no sustainable development of coastal areas, if the right to property is not respected.

He says this is the primary task of the government, adding that any project must be well thought out and respect the fundamental constitutional rights of residents and owners.

According to the President, clientelism and negligence towards the interests of residents have led to violations of the principles of equality before the law, violation of legitimate rights and their right to a fair legal process.
