President Ilir Meta went overnight to the Kalimash tunnel to see closely the situation created by the fire. For two days, the flames above the tunnel have been active, burning a considerable area of ​​land, but also endangering the tunnel and citizens.

Through an announcement, the presidency announced that Meta left for the Kalimashi tunnel at 01.30, and then there was a reaction on Facebook from the Head of State.

The latter indicated that the Kalimash tunnel was completely passable and safe. He also added that in the early hours of the morning an operation with more forces was expected to extinguish the fire on Mount Rrunja.

Meta also thanked Kosovo for the assistance provided in these difficult moments. The day before, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani authorized the sending of KSF troops and equipment to help Albania to cope with the situation created by the fires.
