Tensions in the North, Escobar and Lajcak visit Kosovo and Serbia

The situation continues to remain tense in the North of Kosovo, where the parties are not finding peace after the appointment of Albanian mayors in municipalities with a Serbian majority. Within this issue, the high representative of the EU, Miroslav Lajçak, and the US representative, Gabriel Escobar, will stay in Kosovo and Serbia on Monday and Tuesday.

According to the Kosovar media, this was confirmed by the spokesperson of the European Union, Peter Stano, who said that Escobar and Lajçak will make this visit precisely because of the tensions in the North.

"I can confirm that the EU special representative, Miroslav Lajcak, will go to Pristina and Belgrade on Monday and Tuesday, together with the US envoy, Gabriel Escobar, to follow the calls of the highest level of EU for the de-escalation of tensions in the north of Kosovo", he said for KP.
