This is Potato the cat, who had to have his ears removed due to a tumor. Potato lived as a stray cat with a few other street cats. Potato was later taken into the home of an elderly woman from Hong Kong, but she sadly died in 2016. A local cat shelter then took care of her.

Meanwhile, in 2018, a couple decided to adopt him. Unfortunately, ceruminous adenoma, an ear tumor that can cause pain and hearing loss if left untreated, was found in the cat's ear. After some consultation, the vets told the owners that the cat had to undergo surgery to remove the ears to prevent the tumor from spreading.

“Unfortunately it got worse and at the end of November 2019, and after consultation with the vet, it was decided that it would be best to remove the ear canals to avoid recurrence, spread and more suffering. The operation went smoothly and Potato recovered. We officially adopted him after the surgery," said the cat's owner.

It only took two weeks for the cat's ear stitches to heal and he is now happy and healthy in his home.

His owners have created an Instagram account called @no_ear_meow_potato, which has 17,500 followers, full of adorable pictures of the cat.

"His hearing is less sensitive than before, like what we hear when we cover our ears with our hands. But luckily he is still very responsive and no obvious side effects have occurred. As a street cat, his personality was like a gangster in the past, but in fact, he is very adorable. He was shy at first, but after he adapted, he became very playful and interactive," said the cat's owner.
