Accidentally shot on set, a documentary about the life and career of the late

The production company of the film "Rust" will shoot a documentary which will include the life and career of Halyna Hutchins, who passed away after being shot during a shoot in 2021. It is learned that this documentary has the support of Hutchins' husband, Matthew. The documentary will be directed by Rachel Mason and produced by Julee Metz.

The news comes amid legal proceedings between the film's actress Hannah Gutierrez-Reed and actor Alec Baldwin, who have been charged with involuntary manslaughter. The film is scheduled to resume shooting in the spring with Bianca Cline as the new cinematographer. In honor of Hutchins, Cline will donate her salary to a charitable cause.

The production company also confirmed that Baldwin will retain the lead role in the film and that the scene in which Hutchins lost his life will be remade, although no further details were given. Additionally, producers Grant Hill and Stephen Marinaccio are joining the team, which also includes Matthew Hutchins as executive producer. Filming will resume with increased security protocols and a ban on any live weapons or ammunition.
