Pristina does not Give Up on Recognition Campaign, Belgrade Announces a Harsh

Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti said that the lobbying for recognition of Kosovo was not stopped, which caused a reply from the official Belgrade that Serbia, if there should be new recognitions or if Kosovo should apply for membership in international organizations, would continue the campaign of withdrawals of recognition.

Hoti said on Friday at the session of Kosovo Parliament that the lobbying did not stop and he stated that it was agreed with the international partners to work together on Kosovo’s membership in international organizations, Kosovo-based media reported.

Canceling of the Pristina’s lobbying campaign for recognition of Kosovo was a pre-condition for the continuation of the dialogue, which was announced by the envoy of the US President for negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina Richard Grenell, while the part of the agreement was for Belgrade to stop the campaign of withdrawals of recognition of Kosovo.

Vucic: We will respond with the same measure if Kosovo is not calmed down by their mentors: Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday that he would wait to see the effects of the alleged continuation of Kosovo’s campaign, and then he would decide on the continuation of Serbian counter-campaign.

“If they are not calmed down by their mentors before it, we will continue our campaign [of unrecognizing of Kosovo] and I promise them that we will be five times more successful”, Vucic said.

Vucic said that Hoti’s statement showed that “the signature of Albanians for Associations of Serbian Municipalities (ZSO) and the word was given to Grenell means nothing”.

He also added that he was not surprised by the lack of reaction from the European Union and the USA because “it is normal for them that Albanians should ask for independence and membership in the international communities”.
