4 years of investigations, zero evidence/ Malltezi: Political persecution

The Head of the Environment Department in the Democratic Party, Jamarbër Malltezi, has published on social networks two photographs accompanied by direct accusations against state institutions, raising concerns about violations of the law, abuse of property and violation of the public interest.

In the first photo, Malltezi holds two banners with images of construction sites, mentioning decisions of the Council of Ministers and urban development projects. According to the message conveyed, he emphasizes that the construction of a high school was planned through four nominal VKMs, bringing construction appropriation and plunder of public and private land. In parallel, Malltezi emphasizes that 41 informal families have been housed on private land and with private funds, a kindergarten has been built and an urban park with over 2000 trees has been created in Tirana.

The second photo contains a note, where Malltezi questions the existence of facts and evidence in an investigative process that has lasted four years. He emphasizes that there is no concrete evidence, but only “assumptions and perceptions”, raising the question of whether we are dealing with criminal prosecution or political persecution. In this context, he qualifies these actions as acts that undermine democracy and the rule of law.

In the same message, Malltezi lists several issues that constitute a violated public interest: private land, usurped facilities, privatization processes and the political orientation of the country. The post ends with an ironic statement where he writes: “But it’s Saliu’s fault!”, using this expression as a symbol of deliberate blaming of the current government.
