The Vice President of the Democratic Party, Luciano Boçi, spoke in Parliament about the serious accident in Durrës, where two children lost their lives and another was seriously injured.

According to Boçi, the phenomenon of the so-called "neighborhood strongmen" is not disconnected from politics, but according to him, it is tolerated and in some cases promoted by the government.

He said that the Socialists have given "carte blanche" to these characters, who appear in various power structures, from local government to Parliament.

"These neighborhood strongmen that you know well by name and surname who manage the distribution of drugs in neighborhood schools, you have them on the streets, you have these neighborhood strongmen in the municipality, you made them heads of local government, you made them mayors, you made them deputies here, because we have seen them, we know them. These neighborhood strongmen may have a license and they should have it, but they should not have political "blank cards". They also control the Police inspectors in the neighborhood. I do not want to repeat what the main causes of accidents are, but behind whom the neighborhood strongmen who overtake, act like gangsters, enter illegally, we are all witnesses on the streets of Albania of who commits these acts",  said Boçi.
