From the media conference at the blue headquarters, Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha commented on the decision of the Constitutional Court, which rejected the DP's request to establish an investigative commission on the 'McGonigal' case.

Berisha said that the Constitutional Court blocked the investigation into the scandal at the behest of Edi Rama, which, according to him, would lead to the full disclosure of the scandal.

The chief democrat warned that the matter would be sent to Strasbourg.

"He carried out Edi Rama's order. Blocking the investigation of a scandal of the largest international proportions, the de facto recruitment of the most important man in the FBI's counterintelligence with corruption and his use against the opposition, is the most irresponsible decision you can make."

It would be in the greatest interest of Albanians and our partners to fully uncover that super scandal. But of course, that decision could have been directly influenced by the judges' connections with McGonigal. We will also investigate this matter. We will investigate it, we will take it to Strasbourg. We will take that decision to Strasbourg," Berisha declared.
