The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted after the Tirana Court jailed 5 protesters who participated in the April 17 protest.

Berisha said that the protesters were left in prison by party militants without any evidence. The leader of the Democrat Party expressed gratitude for those protesters who stood up to the regime.

Berisha: Tonight I have a heartfelt gratitude and greeting for the heroes of the peaceful uprising of April 17, Klement Çuçka, Bujar Tusha, Henri Shapllo, Mirvet Toçilla, Sem Bici, who stood like lions against the inhuman, bestial tortures that uniformed criminals committed against them in the cells of the police stations and were held in prison today without any evidence, without any facts by prosecutors and judges Kapo and Peza, blind party militants.

They are our conscience, they are our inspiration. Their urgent release from prison is our battle. A heartfelt greeting also to the invincible brave men Ikball Domi, Gentian Tuga, Ernest Kapo, Preng Lala, Edison Shyti, Bardhyl Ndou, Sokol Bajraktari, etc., who were tortured in the police station by bandits in uniform, but remained undefeated.
