Arta Dade refuses the medal and the invitation to Rama's rally: Real

Arta Dadeka refused the medal and the invitation to participate in the rally called by Edi Rama, sending a strong message against the prime minister and the current leadership of the Socialist Party.

The former minister and former socialist MP declares that the real socialists are not found in the "anti-rally called from above", but in the square where the youth have been protesting for 13 days.

In a strong reaction, Dade describes the rally called by Rama as a symbol of the "alienation" of the SP.

"Today, true socialists, those who grew up with the ideals of social justice, are not found in the anti-rally called "from above". They are where the soul of the left has always been, in the square where for 13 days the youth has been protesting for dignity. That square that Mr. Rama seeks to fill today does not represent its history, but its alienation.

"My place today is where I have always been and I know that today I speak on behalf of every socialist who has not sold his memory. My rejection today is towards him and towards the anti-corruption and facade rallies, which bow only to money and power, and forget the blood shed on the boulevard ," Dade said in reaction.

Dade accuses Rama of trying to present the civic revolt as destabilizing, while according to her, the protests have social demands and represent traditional leftist values.

At the end of the reaction, she also harshly attacks former SP figures who have chosen to participate in the anti-rally, accusing them of having become "decorations" of the government and of having compromised with corruption.

"Mr. Rama is trying to sell the youth revolt as a destabilizing movement, but the truth is quite different. Above all, this protest is not against the left. On the contrary, it has deeply leftist and social demands, demands for equality, for opportunities, for the protection of those who have been neglected by this government."

But recently, dangerous tumors have grown in the body of this party, galloping corruption, clientelism and, most recently, the arrogance of absolute power. The historical difference of the Socialist Party has been its ability to self-correct. True socialists have purified themselves through will, ideals and a critical voice, not through servile applause at fake anti-rallies. In this great epochal division, it is painful and disappointing to see some former representatives of the Socialist Party, people with whom we have shared difficult battles, who will today line up at that anti-rally. It is truly sad to see their moral decline. It is sad to see how these figures who once had a voice, today accept to be used as decoration, driven by small, petty interests of the moment.

They no longer represent anything but their personal compromise with evil. By accepting to become a shield for corruption, they have surrendered their dignity before the history of this party, choosing to be on the wrong side of the square and of time. Albania today needs a reborn left on its initial ideals. It needs a platform declaration to return the ideological home of the left to the people. It needs a political organization with morality, with integrity and with its eyes on the people, not on its pockets. The hour of this return has struck! " , concludes Dade.
