Berisha's lawyer: Malltez was followed from Vlora to Rinas

The lawyer of the leader of the PD, Sali Berisha, Genc Gjokutaj spoke about the continuity of the judicial process against Berisha and Jamarbër Malltez, in relation to the 'Partizani' file.

Invited to the show "Kjo Javë", regarding the moment of Malltezi's arrest, lawyer Gjokutaj said that he was waiting for his wife, Argita Malltezi, at Rinas airport, who was returning from Germany. He further said that Malltezi was followed from Vlora to the airport by SPAK.

Among other things, Gjokutaj said that Sali Berisha did not abandon the case, but the investigation, while adding that the former prime minister is under permanent attack from the majority and the chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha.

"It is too early to say what Berisha will do. We will appeal this decision to the Court of Appeal. This, as a special court , has a practice that requires the defending party to complete the deadline. The obligation to appear before the judicial police seeks to verify Berisha's presence at the disposal of the investigation. Berisha has stated that he is not abandoning the case, but the investigation. If they had followed the parliamentary procedure, this would not have happened. Berisha is under permanent attack from the majority and from Basha. When politics gets involved, there are short cuts and pruning.
