Abuse of funds, CEC demands fines for SP, DP and 103 other parties

The State Commissioner of Elections Ilirjan Celibashi asked the Appeals and Sanctions Commission for fines of 3 million lek for the two main parties in the country, the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party.

This proposal comes after the approval of the findings "from the audit of the funds received and spent by the political parties participating in the partial local elections of March 6, 2022".

Meanwhile, 103 other parties were fined directly by the Commissioner with fines from 60,000 to 100,000 ALL for violation of election laws after the approval of the financial audit for 2021.

The commissioner imposed administrative sanctions on political parties:

Fine in the amount of 60,000 ALL for the "Party Movement for National Development;
Fine in the amount of 60,000 ALL for "The Greek Ethnic Minority Party for the Future;
Fine in the amount of ALL 60,000 for the "Albanian Labor Movement Party";

Fine in the amount of ALL 3,000,000 for the political party "Partia Demokratike" (Article 23/4, point 3 of the law "On Political Parties");
Fine in the amount of ALL 500,000 for the political party "Partia Demokratike" (Article 173, point 3 of the CC);
Fine in the amount of 100,000 lek for the political party "Partia Demokratike" (Article 173, point 8 of the CC);
Fine in the amount of ALL 92,775 for the candidate for mayor of the Socialist Party of Albania, Mrs. Emirjana Sako and the transfer of funds received on behalf of the CEC, according to article 173, point 5 of the CEC;
Fine in the amount of ALL 120,590 for the candidate for mayor of the Socialist Party of Albania, Mr. Edison Memolla and the transfer of funds received on behalf of the CEC according to article 173, point 5 of the CEC;
Fine in the amount of ALL 91,420 for the candidate for mayor of the House of Freedom Coalition, Mr. Bardh Spahia and the transfer of funds received on behalf of the CEC according to article 173, point 5 of the CEC;
Fine in the amount of 415,000 ALL for the candidate for mayor of the House of Freedom Coalition, Mr. Ardian Muka and the transfer of funds received on behalf of the CEC according to article 173, point 5 of the CEC.
