Gonzato to the government: Membership does not just mean approving legislation,

From the Regional Conference "Accelerating Childcare Reforms towards European Union Membership", the EU Ambassador to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, spoke about the integration process.

Gonzato emphasized that membership does not only mean the adoption of legislation, but also the transformation of society in all its aspects.

The EU Ambassador pointed out the creation of a safe environment for youth who choose to emigrate to Albania. Gonzato said that more conditions and opportunities for education and employment must be created.

"One of the objectives that must be achieved by 2030 in the EU is to reduce the number of people at risk of poverty or social exclusion to at least 15 million, and the figure for children is 5 million. We see the Child Guarantee as a key programme to provide support to young people."

The accession process does not only mean the adoption of legislation, but requires the transformation of society in all its aspects. According to the accession negotiations, children's rights are part of the basic chapter group, while legislation on education and social policy is covered by chapter group three, which we hope will open soon.

Candidate countries are expected to create the right framework to create an environment that allows youth to move forward, by providing students with the skills they need from the labor market. To create more opportunities and more equal opportunities for employment with dignity.

"The EU is here to accompany all candidate countries through the growth plan. The support also comes in the form of financial support for the implementation of reforms," Gonzato declared.
