The meterologist explains how long the African heat wave will last in Albania

The African heat wave with high temperatures has been covering Albania and many other countries in the region for days.

Meterologist Hakil Osmani in a direct link for "Alshqipria Sot" has given details about this heat wave which, according to him, will be present in our country until the end of the month.

Among other things, Osmani emphasized that it is important to be careful as the temperatures at their peak can reach even more than 43 degrees.

" Even during this week we will have these hot temperatures, the heat wave is expected to remain until the 27th or 28th of this month. On Thursday and Friday, temperatures are expected to reach 42 or 43 degrees Celsius in our country. The cities with the highest temperatures will be Berati and Gjirokastër with values of 43.3 and 43.5 degrees. The weekend will bring a slight drop of 1 or 1.5 degrees that will be insensitive, but again next week we will have an increase in temperatures, where Elbasan, Gjirokastra Berati will reach 43 degrees and in Tirana, Shkodër and in Fier with 42 degrees, but the temperatures measured in the shade are much higher than in the sun," he said.

Among other things, Osmani said that it is important that all people who have chosen to relax near the coast should be careful during lunch hours, since the air temperature is 42 degrees and that of the water is 20 degrees, which leads to an increase in health risks. .

"Even on the coast the temperatures are up to 39 degrees, and if we stay in the sun during lunch we will experience temperatures of 42 or 43 degrees, and entering the water where the temperature will be 20 degrees will bring a lot of problems. It is good that citizens should be at sea more during the afternoons. The coast is one of the best choices as the temperatures are up to 4 degrees lower, another area is the southeast as the temperatures will be up to 37 degrees and the exception is Kukësi with 41 degrees. It is advisable to visit the southeast", said Osmani.
