Floods caused by bad weather, Ministry of Defense reacts: Problematic situation continues in some areas

Following the intense rainfall that has hit the country in recent hours, the Ministry of Defense has published a detailed update on the situation in the regions of Albania.

According to the report, most of the territory appears calm and stabilized, while localized problems continue to be addressed in Dibër, Durrës, Lezhë, Kukës and in a few areas of Korça. Below is a summary of the situation by region.

Debar

Power outage in the administrative units of Kala e Dodës, Sllovë, Zall-Dardhe, Reç, Lura and partially in Arras and Fushë-Çidhen. OSHEE teams are on the ground to repair the defects. The intensity of precipitation has decreased significantly.

Durres

In the Sukth Municipality, several homes in the villages of Kullë, Hamallë and Rrushkull have been flooded, and several local roads remain blocked. In Manzë, around 48 homes are reported to have water inside. In the Krujë Municipality, work is underway to open drainage channels in Thumanë, Borizanë and Mazhë. The embankment of the Drojë River is being strengthened to prevent further flooding. The water level has started to drop.

Lezha

In the Kurbin Municipality, the intervention continues in Mamurras, where about 50 houses have water, and in Milot where 12 flooded houses are reported. The municipality's structures and the Water Supply and Sewerage Department's vehicles are on the ground. In Mirdita, there are power outages in several villages of the Rubik unit. The Drin and Mat rivers are within normal quotas.

Kukes

Inert materials have fallen on several road axes; contractor companies are clearing the roads. Power shortages continue in deep mountainous areas, but OSHEE teams are working to restore supply.

Shkoder

No major problems have been reported. Preventive works continue on the Guri i Zi canal, the Dajçi bridge and the "Berdicës Arch" to guarantee the normal flow of water.

The other regions of Gjirokastër, Vlorë, Fier, Elbasan, Berat and Tirana do not present any problems from the rainfall. In Korça, work is underway to restore electricity to several administrative units.
