Giovanni Falcone's sister was executed by the mafia, message to Albanian

Giovanni Falcone is a well-known Italian judge who waged war on the mafia, until the latter killed him on May 23, 1992.

Maria Falcone, the sister of the late Italian judge, told Euronews Albania that she remembers with pain the day when her brother was killed by the hands of the mafia.

"For me it is a day of remembrance and pain, but it is also a day when everyone gathers under the symbolic tree of Giovanni's war but also of the changing society. Many things have changed, especially here in Palermo, because the current society is more participatory ," she said.

Falcone also gave advice to Albanian judges and prosecutors who, like his brother, want to fight crime.

"I tell them to believe in the values that Giovanni and Paolo Borsellino believed in, in the values of democracy and its values such as justice, equality and freedom. The values that have always remained throughout Europe, since the French revolution," she said.
