The murder of Gentian Bejtja, one of the perpetrators of the event is identified

The police have identified the perpetrator of the murder of Gentian Bejtja, who was executed with a barrage of bullets in March of this year in the yard of his apartment in Larushk, Fushë-Kruja.

The police informs that the identified perpetrator has been announced as an international wanted person and efforts are being made to arrest him.

Following the announcement of the event dated 15.03.2024, for the murder of the citizen Gentjan Bejtja, inside the fence of the yard of his residence, in the village of Larushkë, Krujë, we inform you as follows: For the investigation of this serious criminal event, the Directorate Tirana Local Police immediately set up a special investigative group, which under the professional direction of the Prosecutor's Office of the Judicial District of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, has continuously carried out all the necessary investigative actions, on the initiative or ordered by the Prosecutor. In relation to this event, the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana registered criminal proceedings no. 1944 of 2024, for the criminal offenses "Premeditated murder" committed in collaboration, and "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", provided by articles 78, 25 and 278/1 of the Criminal Code.
 

From the totality of the in-depth investigative actions, it has emerged that the perpetrators approached the residence of the citizen Gentjan Bejtja with a black "Land Rover Discover" brand vehicle and after committing the murder, they left with this vehicle on the Larushkë - Thumanë road axis , after passing the Fushë Kruja overpass, they turned left and in the village of Hasan they burned the vehicle above.

From the investigation, it has been proven that the perpetrators left with a black "Volkswagen Golf" type vehicle, without a license plate on the back, following the route from the place where the vehicle was burned in the direction of the main road Thumanë-Fushë Krujë. they turned right at the Fushë-Krujë overpass and left in the direction of Bubq village, Krujë.

From the analysis of the information received by the police intelligence as well as the surveillance and taking of the security cameras, it became possible to identify the "Volkswagen Golf" type vehicle with license plate AB960GG, owned by the citizen Edison Haxhiu, 30 years old, born in Milot, Kurbin and resident in Tirana. Likewise, it turned out that this vehicle was also used by the citizen Ilir Beqaraj alias Ilir Brahimi alias Ilir Mançellari, born in Milot, Kurbin and resident in Tirana.

On 19.03.2024, the structures of the Local Police Directorate of Tirana made it possible to find and seize the "Volkswagen Golf" type vehicle, black in color with license plate AB960GG, owned by the citizen Edison Haxhiu and escorted to the premises of the Police. Also, in continuation of the investigative actions, on this same date it became possible to accompany the citizen Ilir Beqaraj alias Ilir Brahimi alias Ilir Mançellari to the premises of the Police.

During the search of the apartment of the citizen Ilir Beqaraj alias Ilir Brahimi alias Ilir Mançellari, a pistol firearm with the inscription "Walther" with eight cartridges, a firearm of the brand "Benelli", which was kept, was found and seized as material evidence. with the permission of the Police authorities, a belt with twenty-nine firearm cartridges, five devices such as radio transceivers, a passport of the Republic of Kosovo in the name of the Kosovar citizen BA, suspected to be forged as the photo is similar to the photo of the citizen Ilir Beqaraj alias Ilir Brahimi alias Ilir Mançellari, an identity card of the Republic of Kosovo in the name of the Kosovar citizen BA, suspected to be forged as the photo is similar to the photo of the citizen Ilir Beqaraj alias Ilir Brahimi alias Ilir Mançellari, and 3 mobile devices.

On 19.03.2024, the Serious Crimes Investigation Sector at the DVP Tirana made the arrest in flagrante delicto of the citizen Ilir Beqaraj alias Ilir Brahimi, alias Ilir Mançellari, 41 years old, for the criminal offenses "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, weapons explosives and ammunition", and "Forgery of documents" provided by articles 278/2 and 186 of the Criminal Code, as well as the detention of citizen Edion Haxhiu, 30 years old, for the criminal offense of "Providing conditions and material means to commit murder" , provided by article 80 of the Criminal Code.

Following the performance of in-depth investigative actions, the use of police intelligence, the administration of evidence and various criminalistic examinations, the administration of documents, the special investigative group under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office of the Judicial District of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, has made it possible to document legal implication of other persons as authors of this event In evaluating the evidence and facts, the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Tirana, with the decision no. 1885 dated 26.07.2024 has decided to assign the personal security measure "Arrest in prison", in absentia, to the citizen FP, alias FS, alias FM, 41 years old, born and resident in Vlora, suspected of committing the criminal offense "Murder with premeditation" carried out in cooperation, and "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", provided by articles 78, 25 and 278/1 of the Criminal Code. The services of the DVP Tirana, supported in the operational phase by the services of the DVP Vlorë, have carried out checks to locate the citizen FP, alias FS, alias FM, 41 years old, and the work continues for the capture of this citizen who has been announced as an international wanted person. Also, in accordance with the decision of the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, control was exercised in the premises of a travel agency in the city of Lezha, where electronic equipment and valuable documents were administered for the investigation. The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Tirana, in the evaluation of the evidence and facts administered, has made the requalification of the criminal offense in charge of the citizen Ilir Beqaraj alias Ilir Brahimi alias Ilir Mançellari, and in addition to the criminal offenses "Forgery of documents" and "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", provided by articles 186 and 278/1 of the Criminal Code, the criminal offense "Premeditated murder", carried out in cooperation, provided by article 78 has been added to this citizen of 22 of the Criminal Code. Gentian Bejtja was executed on March 15 in his apartment. He was a well-known name in the justice system and was a suspect in a number of serious incidents. On January 9, 2022, Gentian Bejtja, a former prison policeman, escaped an assassination attempt with a Kalashnikov, near Nikla in Fushë-Kruje, but his 31-year-old friend Klodian Stafuka, who was in the car with him, was injured during the moment when they stopped to refuel the car at a gas station. The two suspects for his murder are Edison Haxhia and Ilir Beqaraj.
